Western Canada’s digital infrastructure ecosystem will take centre stage on September 9, 2026, as industry leaders gather at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Calgary for a full-day conference focused on the future of data centres and AI infrastructure.
Positioned as the region’s premier digital infrastructure event, Data Centre West 2026 will bring together operators, investors, policymakers, and technology leaders from across Canada and beyond. The agenda spans the full stack—from chips and racks to cooling, power systems, and grid capacity—alongside the policy frameworks shaping future development.
Running from early morning through to an evening networking reception, the Western Canada Data Centre Alliance (WCDCA) hosted event is designed to facilitate both knowledge sharing and relationship building. Attendees will hear from expert speakers while connecting with peers across colocation, hyperscale, edge, cloud, and AI infrastructure.
A key focus will be on the opportunities and constraints defining growth in Western Canada, particularly as demand for AI compute accelerates. Sessions will explore site selection, supply chains, connectivity, and the evolving requirements of training and inference workloads, as well as the critical role of energy availability and thermal management.
By convening stakeholders actively investing in, building, and operating digital infrastructure, the conference aims to bridge national and global perspectives with local execution—highlighting how Western Canada can position itself in an increasingly competitive race for compute capacity.
