Equinix has launched a global network of innovation centres to help enterprises test liquid-cooled AI infrastructure before committing to larger deployments.
The Equinix Enhanced Performance Innovation Centers, or EPIC, are operating in Frankfurt, London, Osaka, Paris and Sydney, with additional locations expected in 2027. No Canadian location was announced.
Located inside operating Equinix data centres, the facilities allow customers to evaluate GPU and CPU platforms, run AI training and inference workloads, and assess how cooling, power and networking work together under production conditions. Equinix specialists and technology partners support the testing process.
The initiative addresses a challenge facing enterprise AI adoption: increasingly powerful hardware requires higher rack densities, while deployment teams must coordinate cooling systems with electrical infrastructure and facility operations.
“EPIC provides businesses with a place to test, validate and build with confidence before they commit to large-scale deployments,” said Brian Stein, Equinix’s senior vice-president of infrastructure products and services.
Equinix already operates across seven Canadian markets, including Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Kamloops, giving the company an established presence among Canadian organizations evaluating their infrastructure requirements.
