Vancouver-based Uniserve Communications is advancing its Canadian digital infrastructure footprint, targeting initial operations at its VAN-2 data centre in the fourth quarter of 2026.
In a recent update, the company said the approximately 10,000-square-foot facility at 369 Terminal Avenue will initially support one megawatt of operating capacity, with another megawatt available for future expansion.
The facility is designed for enterprise computing, cloud infrastructure, colocation and AI-related workloads. Planned capabilities include a Tier III design with redundant power and cooling, support for up to 30 kilowatts per rack, and carrier-neutral connectivity.
Uniserve also plans to offer managed hosting, disaster recovery and other services through the site.
The development forms part of the company’s strategy to combine data centre capacity with connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity and AI computing services under a Canadian-controlled platform.
CEO Gautam Lohia described VAN-2 as another step in that expansion, positioning the facility to support longer-term enterprise relationships and recurring revenue.
Uniserve operates in Vancouver, Calgary and Waterloo. Its latest update sets out a near-term capacity target, with the Vancouver facility’s initial operations still planned for later this year.
